The interstellar medium (ISM) is multiphase, magnetized and turbulent. Properties of multi-scale magnetic fields and turbulence are still very uncertain, which prevents us from a thorough understanding of physical processes in ISM such as star formation. Radio polarization is a powerful tool to study ionized gas. In this talk, I will present some of our works on polarization observations. I will also talk about ongoing projects on polarization using Square Kilometre Array (SKA) precursors.
Dr. Xiaohui Sun is a research professor at School of Physics and Astronomy, Yunnan University. He obtained his PhD in 2007 from National Astronomical Observatories, CAS (NAOC). He did his postdocs at Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy and The University of Sydney, and worked at NAOC for several years in between. Xiaohui’s research interests are polarization and magnetic fields.
