Our first talk for the Journal club will be given by Guangwen Chen ( 陈广文) at 7PM Tuesday (Oct. 30th) in the 19th-floor Observatory Hall (天文台报告厅). The topic will be “The numerical study for galactic interaction”, and the title is “Ring Galaxies Through Off-center Minor Collisions by Tuning Bulge-to-disk Mass Ratio of Progenitors”.
Guangwen Chen is a PhD student in USTC, and his work has been published in ApJ (http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2018ApJ...864...72C), and recommend by AAS. The USTC News also reported this work ( https://astro.ustc.edu.cn/2018/1015/c14953a341694/page.htm ).
