Our next Lunch Talk will be given by Yulong Gao(高玉龙) at 10:40AM Thursday(Nov. 15th) in the 19th-floor Observatory Hall (天文台报告厅). The title of the talk will be “The chemical evolution in metal-poor galaxies and chemical process in star-forming galaxies”.
Yulong is a PhD student of our department, he will introduce the chemical evolution in metal-poor galaxies from local to z~1 universe based on eBOSS data, and the chemical process in normal star-forming galaxies from MaNGA IFU survey. The talk will be based on his recent two papers:
Mass - metallicity relation and fundamental metallicity relation of metal-poor star-forming galaxies at 0.6<z<0.9 from the eBOSS survey arXiv:1810.08928
What determines the local metallicity of galaxies: global stellar mass, local stellar mass surface density or star formation rate? arXiv:1810.08922
You are welcome to join the discussion. We will provide boxed food/fruit from the faculty canteen, and more details about signing up for boxed food are given below.
