Our next Lunch Talk will be given by Dr. Lin Xiao (肖琳) at 10:40AM Thursday(Nov. 29th) in the 19th-floor Observatory Hall (天文台报告厅). The title of the talk will be “The boundary between star clusters and dwarf galaxies: what is the nature of diffuse star clusters and ultra-compact dwarf galaxies?”.

Dr. Lin Xiao is a post-doctor of our department, she will introduce the properties of extended star clusters and ultra-compact dwarf galaxies (UCDs), and their nature and formation mechanisms. The talk will be based on these two papers:
