Ana Achucarro  教授
Leiden University
2019/11/27, 4:00pm , the 19th-floor Observatory Hall
Physicists and astronomers have found a way to observe the quantum universe as it was a fraction of a second after the Big Bang. In this talk, I will explain the idea of cosmic inflation and how and why it allows us to do particle physics with telescopes.
Dr. Achucarro is interested in string theory and the early universe. She got her Ph.D. in 1988 under the supervision of Paul Townsend and Steven Hawking. The she joined Imperial College London as a postdoctoral research associate in 1988. In 1989, Achucarro was appointed assistant professor at Tufts University. She Joined Leiden University in 2002
