摘要:
The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has been successfully deployed for almost a year, and it has yielded fruitful results. I will briefly introduce the mission, focusing on the Mid-Infrared Instrument (MIRI) Instrument onboard. I will also talk about our Cosmic Evolution Early Release Science (CEERS) program based on JWST, highlighting some interesting scientific results related to high-z galaxies, active galactic nuclei (AGN), and galaxy morphology and spectral energy distribution (SED). I will then talk about NASA’s plan for the next space IR observatory, especially one novel candidate, the Single Aperture Large Telescope for Universe Studies (SALTUS). Finally, I will introduce my recent research on a detector technology, which can potentially enable large far-IR and X-ray detectors in the future.
