Siwei Zou obtained her Ph.D at the insititut d'Astrophysique de Paris (IAP, Sorbonne Université) in 2018. After that, she conducts postdoctoral work in KIAA, Peking University (2018-2021, BHOLW Fellow) and Tsinghua University (2022-2024, MUST Fellow). Her research focuses on the evolution of gaseous halos in high redshift galaxies and its role in regulating galaxy evolution. She is the co-leads of the IGM absorber working group in DESI, and attended multiple large international collaborated projects in JWST Cycle 1 and 2.摘要:
This talk will focus on the new era of observing the high-redshift universe enabled by the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) and ground-based imaging and spectroscopic surveys such as the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument and Hyper Suprime-Cam. Specifically, the investigation of the intergalactic medium and circumgalactic medium and their connection with nucleosynthesis and galaxy overdensity from the cosmic noon to the reionization epoch will be presented, highlighting the synergies between JWST and large ground-based telescopes. I will also present the results in comparison with simulations and theory.
